According to the OIE 102 outbreaks of highly dangerous diseases were reported in the world from January 30 till February 5, 2016.

Bluetongue outbreak was registered in Ecuador (1) which had been previously free from this disease. New outbreaks of bluetongue continue to be recorded in France (6).

In the territory of Russia ASF outbreak was reported in the Pskov Oblast (1). Besides, ASF was registered in Estonia (31), Lithuania (8) and Latvia (19).

The Veterinary Services of Taiwan (5), Cote’ d’Ivoire (1) and Nigeria (13) notified about the outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza. An outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza continues its spread in the Republic of South Africa (5). Six (6) outbreaks of sheep and goat pox were registered in Mongolia. The Philippines notified about the increase of morbidity and mortality in poultry caused by Newcastle disease.

An outbreak of FMD continues its spread in the Republic of South Africa, where new outbreaks caused by serotype SAT2 (4) were recorded.

The Veterinary Services of Saudi Arabia notified of a new outbreak of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) (1). One case of anthrax (1) was detected in an elephant in the territory of the National park of Botswana.
