Scientists at the FGBI "ARRIAH" have completed the development of a new veterinary immunobiological medicinal product– an associated vaccine for the prevention of respiratory viral infections in cattle.
The medicinal product is intended to protect cattle from parainfluenza-3, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, bovine viral diarrhea, and bovine respiratory syncytial virus infection – diseases widely prevalent on livestock farms that significantly impact productivity and herd number.
The FGBI "ARRIAH" emphasized that the development and implementation of modern combined vaccines enable the formation of a comprehensive system for preventing infectious diseases in animal husbandry, reducing risks of animal diseases, and ensuring the industry's sustainable development in light of the current epizootic situation.
On December 12, 2025, the product successfully passed state marketing authorisation within the territory of the Russian Federation, confirming its safety, quality, and efficacy. The vaccine has now become available for use by a wide range of consumers.
The development of veterinary medicinal products is part of the systematic work by scientists at the FGBI "ARRIAH" aimed at strengthening the country's biological security and advancing domestic veterinary science.
For reference. Parainfluenza-3, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, bovine viral diarrhea, and bovine respiratory syncytial virus infection are among the most common viral diseases in cattle. They affect the respiratory system, compromise animal immunity, cause mortality among young stock, reduce productivity, and lead to significant economic losses on livestock farms. Comprehensive specific prevention is a key tool for mitigating animal disease risks.
