On June 24, 2014 a delegation from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam consisting of the representatives of the National Agro Forestry Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIKAD) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development visited the FGBI “ARRIAH” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor. The aim of the visit was to discuss perspectives of scientific collaboration and of joint research programs in the sphere of prevention and control of terrestrial animal infectious diseases.

The FGBI “ARRIAH” scientists informed the guests about the Centre’s activity paying special attention to the work of reference laboratories for diagnosis of highly dangerous animal diseases such as FMD, rabies, ASF, as well as to the FGBI “ARRIAH” activity in the sphere of avian influenza diagnosis and monitoring. The guests were informed about the functions of the FGBI “ARRIAH” Information and Analytical Department subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor. Also they discussed the epidemic situation in Asia-Pacific region.

The delegation had a chance to observe the work of the laboratories on-site. The representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam visited the Laboratory for Food Safety and the laboratory for Diagnosis of Avian Diseases where they were informed about the scientific and practical work of the Units. Also they were able to see the up-to-date testing equipment.

At the end of the visit the delegation expressed their high opinion of the FGBI “ARRIAH” work as well as of its experts’ and researchers’qualification, wished the Centre’s staff members growth and further scientific achievements and expressed their hope for future collaboration.
