On February 15 – 16, 2018 under the umbrella of the Federal state Financed Institution “Federal Centre for Animal Health”, subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor, International Workshop for veterinarians of RF and CIS poultry establishments “Vital Issues of Poultry Infectious Disease Diagnosis and Prevention in Poultry Production”. Within the workshop number of issues related to assurance of veterinary favourable situation in the industry was addressed.

The event is highly important due to a serious threat of highly dangerous and economically significant poultry disease spread, including HPAI, in the Russian Federation and abroad.

Leading specialists and representatives of poultry farms and regional animal and poultry disease control stations from RF regions and neighboring countries took part in the workshop.

The FGBI “ARRIAH” specialists familiarized the participants with the achievements and experience of the Centre paying special attention to the Institution activities aimed at protection of poultry industry from highly dangerous diseases and quality control of produced biologicals.

Global HPAI epidemic situation was addressed at the Workshop; clinical signs and means to control and prevent highly dangerous poultry diseases like avian influenza, Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis, infectious bursal disease, Marek’s disease, infectious laryngotracheitis, Glasser's disease and avian adenoviral infections were discussed.

During the meeting much attention was paid to the criteria of good poultry keeping conditions, compliance with poultry raising norms and veterinary and sanitary requirements, to efficient treatment and preventive measures that allow not only to achieve high productivity but also to ensure veterinary favorable situation on farms.

During the meeting the detailed information was provided on the development and production of vaccines in the FGBI "ARRIAH" intended for prevention of poultry diseases, as well as the standardization of drugs and quality control of drugs produced. Detailed information was given about services provided by the Testing Centre of the FGBI “ARRIAH” to poultry farms and services in the sphere of quality control of poultry products.

This year the meeting was attended by international lecturers. For example, the listeners could get acquainted with avian diseases epidemic situation and prevention strategy used in Tajikistan.

Round tables were held at the end of the conference, summarizing the results of the conference and standard certificates were awarded to the participants.

The activities of the FGBI "ARRIAH" aroused a keen interest of the press. Representatives of the media were interested in the situation on infectious avian diseases in the Vladimir oblast and in the whole country, and avian influenza spread as a threat to the Russian economy.
