The 7th International Veterinary Congress takes place on April 19 - 21, 2017 in Ufa. It is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and by the Russian Veterinary Association. High status of the Congress is related to high professional level of the invited domestic and foreign speakers – leading world experts in their profession. Traditionally the Congress is attended by specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate Federal Centre for Animal Health.

Within the framework of the Congress, a number of events will take place, including an exhibition of veterinary and medical equipment, medicinal preparations for treatment and prevention of animal and poultry diseases, feeds and feed additives, specialized literature. The stand of the FGBI “ARRIAH” will demonstrate the advanced developments of vaccines and diagnostic kits, methodological and information materials, a range of services. Leading specialists of the FGBI “ARRIAH” will provide to the representatives of poultry farms the consultations and scientific support in the development of vaccination schemes and in the prevention of infectious poultry diseases.

In addition, it is planned to conduct the meeting of Heads of veterinary services of the RF subjects and territorial administrations of the Rosselkhoznadzor, as well as a number of conferences and round tables on different topics.

Nikolai Vlasov opened the session on the issues and problems of modern poultry industry. In his welcome speech Nikolai Vlasov paid special attention to the problem of spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza and methods for prevention of the disease introduction. In addition, Nikolai Vlasov noted positive aspects of the introduction of electronic veterinary certification system and raised the topic of compartmentalization of poultry enterprises. After his speech Nikolai Vlasov gave an interview to a number of media outlets, and answered the questions related to epizootic welfare.

On April 19 the conference “Current scientific findings and innovatory technologies in industrial poultry breeding” was held. The moderators of the conference were V. Fisinin, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, President of the Russian Poultry Union, and G. Bobyleva, Doctor of Science (Economics), general director of the Russian Poultry Union.

Galina Bobyleva highlighted the problem of the quality of poultry products necessary for competitiveness in the market and highly recommended the manufacturers to comply with the necessary quality regulations.

Victor Irza, DVM, leading expert of the FGBI “ARRIAH” on avian diseases, made a report on the current panzootic of highly pathogenic avian influenza and outbreaks of the disease on the territory of the Russian Federation. In his report, Viktor Irza showed the dynamics of the number of outbreaks of avian influenza, spoke about the threat and the main causes of disease introduction with migratory wild birds in 2017.

On the first day of the conference A. Kononov, Candidate of Science (Veterinary Medicine), Head of the reference laboratory for cattle diseases of the FGBI "ARRIAH", made a report. The main subjects of the report are: epizootic situation on certain highly dangerous diseases of cattle and small ruminants in Russia and in the world for 2015-2016; lumpy skin disease of cattle and lumpy skin disease control measures.

The moderators of the seminar on current problems in pig industry were professor K. Gruzdev, Doctor of Science (Biology), leading expert of the FGBI ARRIAH on porcine diseases, and A. Igolkin, Candidate of Science (Veterinary Medicine), Head of the reference laboratory for ASF of the FGBI "ARRIAH".

During the work of the International Veterinary Congress, the scientists of the FGBI "ARRIAH" will also take part in the round tables and discussions. The presented reports of the scientists of the FGBI "ARRIAH" have already aroused a keen interest of foreign and domestic participants of the conferences, as well as of the regional press of Bashkiria. The profile and trade media expressed their interest in further cooperation with the FGBI “Federal Center for Animal Health” and assistance in publication of scientific articles and papers.
