Annual Statistical Dictation Launches: Test Your Data Literacy Annual Statistical Dictation Launches: Test Your Data Literacy

October 13, 2026: The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) has launched Statistical Dictation, its annual educational campaign. This year’s initiative marks a major milestone, celebrating the 215th anniversary of Russia's state statistical services.
Participants will have the opportunity to test their general knowledge of statistics, as well as their practical skills in data analysis, chart interpretation, and handling various metrics.
Organizers have introduced a unique format for this year's event. The online test will remain open for exactly 215 hours—representing one hour for each year of Russia’s state statistical services history. This allows participants to take the dictation at any time that fits their schedule.
The primary objective of the campaign is to boost statistical literacy, which has become an essential skillset in modern society. The ability to accurately perceive, analyze, and interpret data is critical in both everyday decision-making and professional environments.
The campaign will run until October 22, and participation is open to everyone. Those interested can register and take part on the official website: sd.rosstat.gov.ru.
