Another seminar on ASF control under the title: “Relevant ASF epidemic and prevention issues. Tasks for the local authorities and Veterinary Services of the RF Subject” aimed at the coordination and enhancing antiepidemic measures in case of ASF outbreaks in the territory of the RF Subjects was held at the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” on May 16-18, 2016.
Lectures were provided by the FGBI “ARRIAH” leading scientists and experts who informed the audience about the state-of-the-art methods of ASF diagnosis and control, the results obtained by the FGBI “ARRIAH” Reference Laboratory for ASF as well as provided details on the epidemic peculiarities of ASF outbreaks in wild boars.
Reports on ASF-related issues were presented by the guests of the seminar: Vladimir Makarov, professor, Doctor of Science (Biology) (the RUDN University, Moscow) and Viktor Gerasimov, professor, Doctor of Science (Veterinary Medicine) (SSINRRIVV&M of RAAS, Pokrov)
The participants had an opportunity to exchange their opinions on ASF control measures, familiarize themselves with the research work on porcine infectious disease pathology performed at the FGBI “ARRIAH” as well as with the range of veterinary medicines produced there.
The seminar finished with a summary of results and a certificate awarding ceremony.
