On September 17, 2026, Khasan Likhov, Director of the FGBI "ARRIAH," and Kirill Kolonchin, Director of the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), signed a scientific and technical cooperation agreement.

The document is aimed at developing joint research in veterinary medicine and aquatic animal health, improving measures for the control of infectious diseases of aquatic animals and plants, and putting scientific developments into practice.

One of the key areas of cooperation will be the development and improvement of modern tools and methods for diagnosing diseases of aquatic animals. Specialists will also study the causative agents of infectious diseases, conduct fundamental and applied research, and take part in joint research and innovation projects.

The agreement provides for the exchange of scientific and technical information and materials, the holding of working meetings, conferences, seminars, and symposia, internships and professional development for research staff, as well as the preparation of joint scientific publications.

The implementation of the agreement will enable specialists from the two organizations to exchange professional expertise and jointly address pressing scientific and practical challenges relating to aquatic animal health.
