On the sidelines of the IX International Fishery Forum in St. Petersburg, a meeting took place between Khasan Likhov, Director of the FGBI "ARRIAH," and Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan — Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the results of interaction and promising areas for further cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, scientific research, and ensuring biological security.

The Minister noted the high level of work of the FGBI "ARRIAH" and expressed gratitude to the institute for its timely assistance to Kyrgyzstan in preventing animal diseases. This year, more than 4 million doses of VMPs developed by the institute's specialists were supplied to the republic.

The meeting participants paid special attention to joint work in the field of aquaculture. Currently, scientists at the FGBI "ARRIAH" are developing a vaccine for freshwater fish against furunculosis, lactococcosis, vibriosis, pseudomonosis, and yersiniosis. The development is of particular interest to Kyrgyzstan, where trout farming is actively developing.

As part of the meeting, representatives of the FGBI "ARRIAH" were also invited to take part in a trout farming forum in Kyrgyzstan. This will allow the institute's specialists to present modern scientific developments and solutions in the field of fish disease prevention to their foreign colleagues.

The parties expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in the areas of veterinary medicine, including the prevention of cattle and poultry diseases. Special attention is planned to be given to the use of domestic vaccines for protecting poultry farms in Kyrgyzstan, given the significant poultry population in the region.

Following the talks, the participants confirmed their readiness to develop scientific and technical cooperation, exchange experience, and work together to improve the level of biological security in the global space.
