The 7th Annual World Congress of Infectious Diseases (WCID-2018) was held during July 10-15, 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Scientists in infectious diseases from all over the world took part in the event.
The main task of participation in the congress was to present new vaccines against highly dangerous animal diseases, i.e. foot and mouth disease and rabies.
More than 60 speakers from Asia, Africa, Australia, North America and Europe made their reports at the Congress. The scientific program was subdivided into seven basic tracks: viral infectious diseases; bacterial infections; fungal and parasite infections; new antimicrobial drug discovery and development; and global epidemiology and public health.
Director of the FGBI “ARRIAH” subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor Dmitry Lozovoy and Head of the Unit for Livestock Disease Diagnosis and Prevention Alexander Kononov took part in the Congress. Dmitry Lozovoy presented the report on development and study of ARRIAH vaccines against FMD type A, new genetic lineage G-VII. The topic is vital for the region and raised a great interest among the track participants.
FGBI “ARRIAH” subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor is a leading Russian developer and producer of veterinary biologicals. High quality vaccines and diagnostic kits for livestock have a good reputation all over the world. That is why the activities of the institution raised keenness among the potential partners and in scientific circles. On the sidelines of the Congress, talks with the genetic engineering experts from different countries were held.
The participation in the event allowed starting new cooperation in key aspects and defining a future vector of promising interaction development.
