In the first quarter of 2017 in the framework of the official program 80 animal brain samples received from the Vladimir (3 samples) and Tver (77 samples) Oblasts were tested for rabies by the FGBI “ARRIAH” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor.
At the FGBI “ARRIAH” the materials were tested using IFA. Test results revealed 8 new rabies cases in wild animals: 7 cases in the Tver Oblast (Bezhetsky, Kalyazinsky, Konakovsky, Nelidovsky Raions) and 1 case in the Petushinsky Raion, Vladimir Oblast.
According to “Vetis”, a State veterinary information system, 365 cases of animal rabies were registered in the territory of the Russian Federation during the first quarter of 2017. Of these, 14 cases were registered in the Vladimir Oblast and 28 in the Tver Oblast.
