In October 2019 in the framework of the meeting the Council of the CIS Heads of Government approved a Set of Joint Measures of the CIS Countries for avian influenza and Newcastle disease prevention the main developer and coordinator of which is the subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health”.
The Set of Joint Measures has been developed considering the proposals of the veterinary services – CIS members, international experience in implementation of avian influenza and Newcastle disease control programs and it is aimed at minimizing economic losses from these diseases, prevention of the disease introduction and spread in territory of the CIS member countries.
The Set of Joint Measures includes analysis of the avian influenza and Newcastle disease epidemic situation in the CIS countries and other countries of the world, major trends of implementation of the Set of Joint Measures in the framework of avian influenza and Newcastle disease control, measures for prevention and control of these highly dangerous avian diseases, program performance targets.
Upon agreement with the concerned CIS veterinary services the FGBI “ARRIAH” can conduct consultations, trainings, and meetings aimed at implementation of the Set of Joint Measures.
The control of implementation of the Set of Joint Measures is performed by the CIS countries and the Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in the Veterinary Field.
