On July 17, 2019 a delegation of representatives of the Chinese Livestock Association visited the Rosselkhoznadzor-subordinate Federal Center for Animal Health in order to get familiarized with the activities of the institution and discuss cooperation in the field of diagnosis and prevention of porcine infectious diseases.

During the meeting the delegates were informed about the main activities of the FGBI "ARRIAH" and its structural units. Considerable attention was paid to the discussion of topical issues of epizootology, diagnosis and prevention of highly dangerous and economically significant animal diseases. The parties reviewed measures for prevention of African swine fever (ASF) introduction in South-East Asia due to unfavorable ASF epidemic situation. Taking into account the experience of the institution and the staff of the ASF Reference Laboratory of the FGBI "ARRIAH" in implementation of a set of preventive measures to control and eradicate epizootic outbreaks, the representatives of the People's Republic of China studied in detail the experience of ASF control in the Russian Federation.

During the visit the delegation visited the laboratory and production facility of the FGBI “ARRIAH” and highly assessed the activities of the institution, as well as expressed interest in developing cooperation with the Center. The agreements were reached on the development of scientific programs that will enable partnership in the future and become the basis for strengthening and developing the interaction between scientists of the two countries.
