According to the information of the World Organisation for Animal Health 188 outbreaks of animal highly dangerous diseases were registered worldwide from 28 February till 6 March 2015.
An outbreak of African swine fever was again diagnosed in Russia in the settlement of Tatarenkova, Bolkhov Raion, Oryol Oblast. Outbreaks of the disease were also reported from earlier affected countries: Latvia (8), Lithuania (2).
Veterinary services of Macedonia informed about 3 outbreaks of bluetongue. Seven outbreaks of Newcastle disease were officially confirmed in Israel. Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza were registered in the following countries: Myanmar (3), Nigeria (8), Taiwan (9), South Korea (65).
Foot and mouth disease was diagnosed in South Korea – 77 outbreaks. One outbreak of leishmaniasis was reported from Uruguay. Outbreaks of low pathogenic avian influenza were registered in Germany (1) and South Africa (3).
