According to the information of the World Organisation for Animal Health for August 2015 countries reported on 374 outbreaks of animal highly dangerous diseases.
So, for example, the following diseases were diagnosed in Russia:
African swine fever – 24 outbreaks: in the Kursk (2), Bryansk (4), Pskov (1), Ryazan (9), Saratov (1), Volgograd (1), Oryol (2), Yaroslavl (1) Oblasts, Kabardino-Balkar Republic (2) and Krasnodar Krai (1); highly pathogenic avian influenza – 4 outbreaks: in the Novosibirsk Oblast (3) and Zabaykalsky Krai (1); sheep and goat pox – 1 outbreak: on the Chechen’ Island, Kirovsky Raion, Makhachkala, Republic of Dagestan.African swine fever outbreaks were reported by veterinary services of Latvia (141), Lithuania (16), Poland (4), Ukraine (6) and Estonia (81). Besides Russia highly pathogenic avian influenza was also diagnosed in Vietnam (4), Ghana (5), China (2), Cote d'Ivoire (3), Nigeria (10), Palestine (6) and Taiwan (11).
New FMD outbreaks were officially confirmed in Angola (1), Botswana (6), Zimbabwe (20) and Namibia (10). A focus of anthrax was detected in Botswana (1). A mortality level continued to increase in Kenya.
An outbreak of rabies was reported from Slovakia. Veterinary services of Morocco informed about 3 outbreaks of peste des petits ruminants. Four outbreaks of low pathogenic avian influenza occurred in the RSA.
The following diseases were registered in territories of previously free from infections countries:
rabies – Malaysia (1); lumpy skin disease – Greece (2); brucellosis (B. melitensis) – Bulgaria (3); duck viral hepatits – Japan (1); equine biliary fever – Ecuador (1); anthrax – Slovenia (1); low pathogenic avian influenza – Mexico (1).Specialists of the FGBI “ARRIAH” Information and Analytical Department continue to monitor the development of the epidemic situation among wild and farm animals worldwide.
