According to the data of the World Organisation for Animal Health 82 outbreaks of highly dangerous animal diseases were recorded worldwide from 14 till 20 February 2015.
In Russia 1 outbreak of African swine fever was diagnosed (Kaluga Oblast, Medynsky Raion, settlement of Troitskoye). Also 6 cases of the disease were registered in Latvia.
Veterinary Services of Croatia notified about 12 outbreaks of type 4 bluetongue. Israel and Mongolia informed about 1 outbreak of sheep and goat pox. In the last week one case of BSE was detected in the territory of Canada.
As for avian diseases, outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (Nigeria – 132, USA – 8 and Taiwan – 36) and Newcastle disease (Israel – 3) were reported.
