Epidemic Situation on Highly Dangerous Diseases in the World for the Period from March 19 to March 25, 2016

According to the OIE 88 outbreaks of highly dangerous diseases were reported in the world from March 19 to March 25, 2016.

Venezuelan equine encephalitis outbreak was reported in Peru which has been previously free from the disease (1).

ASF outbreak was reported in Kabardino-Balkar Republic (1). Besides, ASF outbreaks were also reported in Estonia (28), Latvia (15), Lithuania (5), and Poland (1).

New Bluetongue outbreaks are being reported in France (3).

Highly pathogenic avian influenza was reported in Nigeria (22). PPR outbreak was reported in Georgia (1). Kyrgyzstan informed about one case of anthrax (1).

FMD outbreak is ongoing in South Korea. Ten new foci caused by serotype O were registered there (10).
