Epizootic situation on highly dangerous diseases in the world in July 5-11, 2014

Based on the OIE data 36 outbreaks of highly dangerous animal diseases were registered in the world from 5 to 11 of July, 2014.

Nine outbreaks of African swine fever were registered in Russia. Latvia officially confirmed four ASF outbreaks and two CSF outbreaks. A CSF outbreak was also registered in Mongolia.

Rabies outbreaks were notified by Taiwan (2 outbreaks). The Egyptian Veterinary Services reported about six outbreaks of lumpy skin disease. A Newcastle disease outbreak was registered in Sweden. Two outbreaks of vesicular stomatitis were reported by the USA.

Four FMD outbreaks were officially confirmed in Tunis and one in China. The PRC veterinary services also notified one outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza. One case of sheep and goat pox and one case of West Nile fever were registered in Greece.
