The experts of the FGBI ‘Federal Centre for Animal Health” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor as a part of delegation visited the OIE and EU Reference Laboratories for Avian and Animal Diseases located in Weybridge and Pirbright (Great Britain) on November 26-27, 2015.

During the visit the FGBI “ARRIAH” experts got acquainted with the OIE/FAO Reference Laboratories activities in highly dangerous animal and avian disease diagnosis and recent research outcomes in animal disease diagnosis and prevention, pathogenic microorganism storage management system and provided proficiency tests in disease diagnosis.

The following aspects were discussed during the visit: scientific and technical cooperation in joint diagnostic technique development and animal and avian disease prevention, strain sharing, specific training as well as participation of the FGBI “ARRIAH” in annual international proficiency tests for avian influenza and Newcastle disease carried out by the OIE/FAO/EU Reference Laboratory of the Animal and Plant Health Agency.
