On May 22, 2019 the delegation of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” visited the Kimron Veterinary Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Israel.

The FGBI “ARRIAH” delegation learnt about the structure of the institute and objectives of the laboratories and departments of the Institute (laboratories for microbiology, toxicology and PCR diagnosis). The detailed reports were made on FMD and relevant emergency disease epidemic situation in Israel.

During the visit D.A. Lozovoy, FGBI “ARRIAH” Director, and B.A. Yakobson, Director of the Kimron Veterinary Institute, signed the Cooperation Agreement, under which the parties will jointly develop research programs and projects aimed at the development and improvement of methods for diagnosis of relevant animal diseases and veterinary drug control.

For the purpose of the above mentioned cooperation the parties will carry out joint research, exchange with scientific and technical information, arrange visits of the researchers and experts and hold working meetings and conferences.

Being the OIE Reference Laboratory for Rabies, the Kimron Veterinary Institute is specifically ready to assist the FGBI “ARRIAH” in its research of the vaccine rabies viruses and development of the efficient vaccination schemes.
