Specialists of Microbiology Sector of the Food Safety Laboratory, FGBI “ARRIAH” branch, took part in the Interlaboratory Proficiency Testing, organized by the FGBI “Central Scientific and Methodological Veterinary Laboratory” (Moscow) in the first quarter of 2016.
Interlaboratory proficiency tests were performed confidentially in compliance with Russian and international standards. Dry milk weight samples (matrix) were chosen as control samples for proficiency testing. Test criteria:
- detection of Listeria monocyytogenes in animal products (1st round). The tests were performed according to GOST 32031-2012 “Food products. Methods of Listeria monocyytogenes detection”;
- detection of Salmonella in animal products (2nd round). The tests were performed according to GOST 31659-2012 “Food products. Methods of Salmonella detection”;
- detection of Proteus in animal products (3d round). The tests were performed according to GOST 28560-90 “Food products. Methods of Proteus, Morganella and Providencia detection”.
129 Russian laboratories participated in the testing. The FGBI “ARRIAH” branch successfully coped with the task.
The proficiency testing results were satisfactory (the laboratory obtained a Certificate of Participation in the Interalaboratory Proficiency Testing in April 2016). Therefore, the FGBI “ARRIAH” branch in the Republic of Crimea confirmed its specialist competence in testing animal products for microbiological criteria.
