On October 29, 2020 the specialists of the FGBI Federal Centre for Animal Health took part in the online meeting of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in the field of Veterinary Medicine.
Deputy Director for Research, Development and Quality Artem Metlin described the current epizootic situation in the CIS member states in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and presented a report on implementation of the CIS basic organization functions on advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of diagnosis and control of animal diseases by the Federal Center for Animal Health in 2020 and a training plan for 2021. He also came up with a draft Agreement between the CIS member states on exchange of biological material.
Deputy Head for Research, Development and Monitoring Ilya Chvala told about the preliminary results of implementing the CIS Joint Measures for FMD prevention and control till 2020 and made a report on the progress of implementing the CIS Joint Measures for prevention and control of avian influenza and Newcastle disease till 2025 (for 2019-2020).
Deputy Director for Informatization Alexander Osminin presented a report on approval of the Regulation on the Working Group engaged in veterinary e-certification in the CIS member states.
The proposals voiced by the FGBI ARRIAH specialists were unanimously approved by the members of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council and will be further reflected in the decision of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in the Veterinary Field.
In addition, within the framework of the meeting, the participants discussed proposals for the projects "The CIS joint measures for ensuring biological safety of genetic material during farm animal reproduction" and "The CIS joint measures related to resistance to antimicrobial drugs used in animal husbandry".
