During the period from June 30 to July 9, 2014 and according to the Program of Epidemic Surveillance of the Kyrgyz Republic implemented prior to its accession to the Customs Union and Common Economic Space Alexey Borisov and Svetlana Kremenchugskaya, officers of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health”, participated in veterinary inspection mission of areas bordering the Republic of Kazakhstan (Chuyskaya, Issyk-Kulskaya and Talasskaya Oblasts).

During the mission highly dangerous and zoonotic disease epidemic situation was examined as well as operation of border inspection posts and animal health stations were inspected. Blood samples were collected from cattle and small ruminants for subsequent FMD testing in the FGBI “ARRIAH”, TOO “KazNIVI” (Almaty), RGP “National Republican Veterinary Centre” (Astana) and Republic Centre for Veterinary Diagnosis of the Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek).
