On November 18, 2016, A. Kononov, expert of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Сentre for Animal Health”, delivered training on topical issues of LSD epidemiology and prevention, challenges for local authorities and RF regional veterinary authorities to the officers of the Veterinary Departments of the RF Subjects and Rosselkhoznadzor Territorial Administrations.
The training was organized in the FGBI “Stavropolskaya IOVL” in pursuance of the order of N.A. Vlasov, Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, as of 09.11.2016 No. FS-NV-2/21226.
Over 30 experts from 9 RF Subjects forming a part of North Caucasian and Southern Federal Okrugs participated in the workshop. Issues of current LSD epidemic situation in the RF and in the neighboring countries; specific clinical signs and post mortem lesions as well procedures for sampling, preservation, packing and delivery of materials for laboratory testing were discussed during the workshop. In addition, special emphasis was given to anti-epidemic and preventive measures to be taken in case of LSD outbreak.
On completion of the training the trainees received duly executed certificates.
