The Regional Seminar of the OIE National Focal Points for Veterinary Laboratories started its work in Kranj, Slovenia on June 27, 2017. Ekaterina Gurnova, Chief specialist-expert of the Rosselkhoznadzor Laboratory Control Unit came in the capacity of the RF National Focal Point.
In the course of the session the role of a laboratory in sample collection as well as communication and cooperation with practicing veterinarians based on the OIE international standards by creating and promoting safety and quality culture were addressed. The discussed topics covered sample transportation, biological risk analysis, quality management system, laboratory networks and role of the national focal points.
Director of the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor Dmitry Lozovoy made presentations devoted to the following topics: “Reception, evaluation and processing of samples in the laboratory” and “Challenges of sample reception: Perspective of the OIE Reference Laboratory”.
Based on the results of the session the discussions between the countries and concerned people on international communication and search for solution of common problems were held.
