On November 9, 2020, specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate Federal Center for Animal Health took part in the meeting of the Veterinary Surveillance Section within the Rosselkhoznadzor Scientific and Technical Council.

The head of the FMD prevention laboratory Dmitry Mikhalishin acted as a speaker on behalf of the FGBI "ARRIAH" and presented a final report on the topic: "Research and development as well as design and experimental activities for creation of new protective drugs based on circulating newly recovered isolates of especially dangerous and exotic animal infections and their testing (inactivated FMD vaccine for early protection against FMD virus type A)". The activities were performed for the purpose of implementation of the Federal Target Programme "The RF National system of chemical and biological security (2015-2020)".

Upon completion of all the planned activities, the FGBI "ARRIAH" developed a vaccine against foot and mouth disease for the early protection of animals from the new strain A No. 2205 / G-IV / 2018, drew up a report with annexes of the draft STO, and made instructions for use. The vaccine is sterile, innocuous, and safe. It does not induce antibodies to FMDV non-structural proteins, can produce protective immunity in cattle and pigs 4 days after vaccination against the homologous FMD virus type A. PD50 for cattle - 18, PD50 for pigs - 22.

Following the meeting, the participants unanimously approved the proposed report.
