On April 16-18, 2019 the specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI "Federal Centre for Animal Health" A. N. Spiridonov, T. V. Vadapalas and P. V. Prutnikov took part in the Regional training workshop on the OIE procedures for the official status recognition and endorsement of official national control programs with regard to FMD and PPR, as well as maintenance of FMD official free status. The event was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the veterinary services of the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Macedonia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. In the course of the workshop the general FMD and PPR requirements of the OIE Terrestrial Code, as well as standard procedure for official status recognition and official monitoring programs were reviewed. The training was arranged in working groups on preparation of dossiers for OIE official status recognition of PPR freedom, as well as on preparation of dossier for the OIE endorsement of the FMD official control program and for annual submission of recognition of FMD status.

In particular, in the framework of the workshop program Researcher of the Information and Analysis Center A. N. Spiridonov presented a report on establishment of FMD containment zone in the Russian Federation and its OIE official recognition.

All participants received certificates of attendance in the regional training workshop.
