On September 10-13, 2018 Kishinev, Moldova hosted the 40th regular Session of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for Veterinary Cooperation. The Russian delegation comprised the representatives of the Veterinary department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Rosselkhoznadzor and the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health”.
The session started with considering the “Epizootic situation in the CIS member states”. The question was addressed by the representatives of the CIS member states veterinary services in their talks. Afterwards, the participants proceeded to the issues related to the “Implementation of the Decision of the CIS Heads of Government Council as of May 30, 2014 on the Package of joint measures of the CIS member states for prophylaxis and combating FMD till 2020” and the “Decision of the CIS Heads of Government Council on the Package of joint measures of the CIS member states for prophylaxis and combating rabies till 2025”, the coordinator for which is the FGBI “ARRIAH”. The agenda also included the questions of the “Designation of the FGBI “ARRIAH” as the CIS member states reference organization for staff training and reskilling in animal disease diagnostics and control” and the “Elaboration and adoption of Package of measures for prophylaxis and combating avian influenza and Newcastle disease on the territory of the CIS member states”.
The Russian delegation made presentations on each of the above-mentioned issues of the agenda and received a positive feedback from the participants which was set forth in the Session decisions.
