About three hundred representatives from the EU, Australia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, USA and other countries were present at the meeting this year.
Modern scientific achievements in the field of epidemiology, immunology, pathogenesis, molecular biology, development of specific preventive tools for different animal diseases were discussed at the meeting.
Fifty-five reports on basic relevant research areas in the field of veterinary virology (ASF, PPR, FMD, LSD, bluetongue, etc.) were presented by leading specialists from veterinary scientific-research centers.
Specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor-subordinate FGBI "ARRIAH" took an active part in the event. Researcher of the Reference Laboratory for ASF Mazloum Ali presented a report on the topic "Biological and genetic characteristics of ASF virus adapted strain ASFV/ARRIAH/CV- 1/30 derived from Odintsovo 02/14 isolate". Three poster reports on the topic: "Determination of LSD virus in bovine meat and offal products following experimental infection», "Identification of Neethling-like vaccine strains in Russia in 2017" and "One-run real time PCR assays for detection of capripoxvirus genomes, field isolates and vaccine strains of LSD virus" were presented by Head of the Reference Laboratory for Cattle Diseases Olga P. Byadovskaya and Leading Biologist of the same laboratory Yana Pestova.
The importance of this event lies in the fact that scientists and researchers from different parts of the world have an opportunity to exchange experience, analyze current situation in the field of animal diseases and propose possible solutions of the issues.
