On March 21, 2017, the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” was visited by the delegates of the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority, Republic of Singapore. The visit was organized within the framework of the working visit of the Singapore delegation to the Russian Federation aimed at review and assessment of the Russian system for ensuring safety of animal food products (poultry meat and pork and ready-to-eat products thereof) and assessment of risks at such products’ importation to the Singapore market.
Experts of the FGBI ARRIAH told about basic trends in research activities carried out in the Centre and aimed at biosecurity and disease freedom in the country. They also referred in detail to up-to-date methods used by the Centre for diagnosis and prevention of economically significant animal and poultry diseases as well as to veterinary preparations and diagnostic kits developed in the FGBI ARRIAH.
Experts of the Centre made a detailed report on epidemic situation on highly dangerous animal and poultry diseases in the Russian Federation and specifically on highly pathogenic avian influenza.
In conclusion of the visit it was summed up that the meeting was fruitful for all participants in the context of negotiating animal product exports to Singapore market.
