1068 highly dangerous disease outbreaks were reported to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)I in November 2016
Russia reported of the following outbreaks of highly dangerous animal diseases: 16 African swine fever outbreaks were reported in 8 RF Subjects: Vladimir Oblast (1 outbreak), Volgograd Oblast (2 outbreaks), Voronezh Oblast (2 outbreaks), Moscow Oblast (2 outbreaks), Novgorod Oblast (1 outbreak), Saratov Oblast (4 outbreaks), Tambov Oblast (1 outbreak) and in the Krasnodar Krai; One outbreak of sheep and goat pox was reported in Novonikolskoye settlement, Ussuriysky Raion, Primorsk Krai (21 diseased animals and 58 susceptible animals); 20 lumpy skin disease outbreaks were reported in 3 RF Subjects: Samara Oblast (1 outbreak), Dagestan Republic (1 outbreak) and Chechen Republic (18 outbreaks); Two outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5 avian influenza were reported in poultry in the Republic of Kalmykia; FMD (Type O) diseased animals were detected in some backyards in Sredneargunsk settlement, Krasnokamensky Raion, Zabaikalsky Krai. In the world, African swine fever was reported in Lithuania (6 outbreaks), Poland (26 outbreaks), Ukraine (12 outbreaks) and Kenya (1 outbreak). Sheep and goat pox was reported in Israel (1 outbreak). FMD outbreaks were reported in China (2 outbreaks, Serotype O) and in Saudi Arabia (1 outbreak, Serotype A).Highly pathogenic avian influenza was reported in Austria (2 outbreaks), Hungary (15 outbreaks), Germany (39 outbreaks), Denmark (10 outbreaks), Netherlands (14 outbreaks), Poland (3 outbreaks), Romania (1 outbreak), Finland (1 outbreak), France (1 outbreak), Croatia (2 outbreaks), Switzerland (79 outbreaks); Sweden (2 outbreaks), Ukraine (1 outbreak), Israel (1 outbreak), Iran (3 outbreaks), India (5 outbreaks), Egypt (1 outbreak), Algeria (1 outbreak), South Korea (14 outbreaks) and Japan (4 outbreaks). New outbreaks of highly dangerous animal influenza were again reported in Ghana (2 outbreaks) and Nigeria (5 outbreaks). Low pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks were reported in Germany (1 outbreak) and South Africa (2 outbreaks). Namibia is continuously reporting Newcastle disease, which was also reported in Bulgaria (1 outbreak) and Sweden (1 outbreak).
Lumpy skin disease was reported in Greece (3 outbreaks) and for the first time it was reported in Georgia (2 outbreaks at 17 km from each other in the north of the country). Bluetongue outbreaks were detected in the following countries: Italy (185 outbreaks), Cyprus (69 outbreaks), Serbia (75 outbreaks), Slovenia (26 outbreaks), France (390 outbreaks) and Croatia (7 outbreaks).
African horse sickness was detected in a horse in Swaziland. Increased number of bovine rabies cases was reported in Belize.
In addition to the above mentioned diseases the following ones were reported in the world during the past period:
Brucellosis (B. melitensis) in Croatia (1 outbreak); Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome in Cambodia (1 outbreak); Anthrax in Zambia (1 outbreak) and Tanzania (1 outbreak); Surra (Trypanosoma evansi) in Uruguay (1 outbreak).Experts of the Information Analysis Centre of the FGBI “ARRIAH” continue monitoring of the national epidemic situation.
