According to the World Organisation for Animal Health 42 outbreaks of highly dangerous animal diseases were registered around the world from March 26 to April 1, 2016.
One ASF outbreak was registered in Russia in the past week: 7 carcasses of wild boars were detected near Okskoe village, Lukhovitsky Raion of the Moscow Oblast. Laboratory tests confirmed that the wild boars were ASFV infected. CSF Outbreak was registered in hunting establishment “Tigrovoe”, Mikhailovsy Raion of the Primorsky Krai. Wild boar carcasses (2 animals) were discovered in the territory of the hunting establishment, near “Tigrovyy” village. Laboratory tests confirmed that the animals were CSFV-infected.
ASF outbreaks were registered in Latvia (15), Ukraine (1) and Estonia (10).
6 FMD outbreaks in pigs and 1 outbreak of Highly-pathogenic Avian Influenza were detected in South Korea. New cases of highly-pathogenic avian influenza were registered in Nigeria (5).
French Veterinary Service informed the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about the detection of a new bluetongue outbreak and a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
