On March 25 this year the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate Federal Centre for Animal Health (FGBI “ARRIAH”) hosted the meeting between the representatives of the Russian Service and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. The event was held at the beginning of inspection of avian influenza control system as well as of two establishments manufacturing RTE meat products performed by Japanese specialists.

In the framework of their mission, the Japanese inspectors will visit Bryansk, Tula and Oryol Oblasts. The Japanese specialists familiarized themselves with the research activities of the FGBI “ARRIAH”, the OIE Reference Centre for highly pathogenic and low pathogenic avian influenza and Newcastle disease.

The parties discussed the epizootic situation of highly dangerous diseases of animals and birds in Russia. The FGBI “ARRIAH” specialists shared information on AI regionalization of the RF territory.

At the end of their visit, the delegation highly assessed the FGBI “ARRIAH” activities and specialists’ competence.

Considering the FGBI “ARRIAH” experience in the development and implementation of diagnostic and preventive measures for control and eradication of epidemics the representatives of the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries expressed their interest in further interaction in the field of animal health and prevention of economically significant diseases.

The Rosselkhoznadzor thanked the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan for their visit to Russia and informed that the first priority of the Service is realization of the export potential of the country taking into account stringent official control of the exported product compliance with the requirements of the importing country.
