On 3-7 October 2016 specialists of the Laboratory of Microbiology of the “Federal Centre for Animal Health” (FGBI “ARRIAH”) subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor completed advanced training courses on the basis of the training centre “Amplitude” (the Moscow Oblast, Zelenograd) in the following specializations:

Leading Technologist of the Laboratory of Microbiology of the FGBI “ARRIAH” I. Pastukhova has completed the programme “Methods of quickened radiochemical preparation of loads of food samples for measurement of radionuclide activity of Cs-137 and Sr-90 using gamma-, beta spectrometers of the “Progress” software complex”. Leading Technologist of the Laboratory of Microbiology of the FGBI “ARRIAH” Yu. Zemlina has completed the programme “Methods of radiochemical preparation of loads of drinkable water samples for measurement of gross alpha- and beta-activities (without K-40) using radiological complex with “Progress” software”.

Specialists of the scientific and technical centre “Amplitude” are developers of the equipment, methods and software for conducting radionuclide sample analysis.

The training and workshops were led by the Head of Laboratory of OOO “Scientific and technical Center Amplitude” A. Sen and Chemist-Technologist I. Gromov.

In the course of the training the following topics were addressed:

Organization and operating instructions in the radiological laboratory; Quickened radiochemical preparation of loads of food samples for measurement of radionuclide activity of Cs-137 and Sr-90 using gamma-, beta spectrometers of the “Progress” software complex. Methods of radiochemical preparation of loads of drinkable water samples for measurement of gross alpha- and beta-activities (without K-40) using radiological complex with “Progress” software. Rules for handling chemicals safely. Current regulations related to methods Internal quality control in the laboratory General deactivation principles in the radiological laboratory

Based on the training and testing results the specialists of the Laboratory of Microbiology for the FGBI “ARRIAH” received certificates on completion of advanced training courses in compliance with the following programmes:

“Methods of quickened radiochemical preparation of loads of food samples for measurement of radionuclide activity of Cs-137 and Sr-90 using gamma-, beta spectrometers of the “Progress” software complex”. (The certificate and identity card were issued to I. Pastukhova); “Methods of radiochemical preparation of loads of drinkable water samples for measurement of gross alpha- and beta-activities (without K-40) using radiological complex with “Progress” software”. (The certificate and identity card were issued to Yu. Zemlina).
