Negotiations between Yevgeny Gromyko, RF Deputy Minister for Agriculture, and Purev Sergelen, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, took place within the framework of the International Green Week Berlin 2017, the 82nd international exhibition for the food, agriculture, and gardening industry on January 20, 2017. Dmitry Lozovoy took part in the event representing the Russian delegation on behalf of the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor.
In the course of the meeting the parties discussed a number of topical issues on bilateral cooperation in agribusiness.
The parties marked a positive dynamics in the turnover of commodities (agricultural products) between Russia and Mongolia in 2016. The Russian delegation pointed out that domestic producers were interested in the increased export of fat-and-oil products, beef, poultry meat and offal as well as of finished meat and grain products to Mongolia.
To add to this, during the meeting the parties also discussed issues related to the implementation of the second stage of their joint program “Mongolian Livestock Health Improvement” of cooperation in veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance, interaction in seed production and agricultural education.
