On May 12, 2016 the delegation of the Thai Department of Livestock Development visited the FGBI “ARRIAH” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor to carry out negotiations on cooperation and technical consultations on diagnosis, prevention and control of highly dangerous and transboundary animal diseases, namely foot-and-mouth disease, avian influenza and African swine fever. The key issue of the visit was familiarization with the approaches to vaccine and diagnosticum development technologies.
The FGBI “ARRIAH” experts made presentations for the Thai delegation that were focused on the Reference Laboratory for foot-and mouth disease and Reference Laboratory for avian influenza as well as Laboratory for porcine disease prevention activities.
Discussion of production of FMD vaccine and vaccines against avian diseases was the key point of the meeting. The FGBI “ARRIAH” researches described in details the whole process from the vacine development up to their application.
At end of the meeting the parties agreed to share the experience between the institutions and to develop plan for joint researches.
