The Rosselkhoznadzor-subordinated FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” (Vladimir) is granted the Russian Federation patent No. 2712769 for the invention of Spectrometric technique for determination of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) virus 146S particle concentration in non-inactivated vaccine raw materials based on estimates of viral RNA molecules after virion immune-capture. The inventions relates to the biotechnology and anti-FMD vaccine production.
The authors of the invention are as follows: Dmitry A. Lozovoy, Deputy Director for Research and Development, Dmitry V. Mikhalishin, Head of Laboratory for FMD prevention; Maxim I. Doronin, Senior Researcher of Laboratory for FMD Prevention; Vyacheslav A. Starikov, Senior Researcher of Laboratory for FMD Prevention; Marina N. Guseva, Senior Researcher of the Department for Biological and Technological Control; Alexey V. Borisov, Leading Researcher of Laboratory for FMD Prevention.
During large-scale FMD vaccine production special attention is paid to the quantity of whole virions having the most important biological properties of FMD virus and being the major components responsible for the vaccine immunogenicity.
The above said invention allows rapid and highly reliable detection of FMD virus 146 S particle concentration in non-inactivated vaccine raw materials with spectrometric technique followed by the proposed linear model application.
