The Russian Academy of Sciences has analyzed research works planned by the Federal Centre for Animal Health (FGBI “ARRIAH”) for 2021.

Basing on the analysis results, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) has given a positive opinion reflecting the relevance of the research themes, novelty, and highly appreciating the human potential of the FGBI "ARRIAH" qualified researchers. It was also noted that the laboratory team possesses all the necessary techniques and skills in the field of classical virology and bacteriology, mycology, molecular and population genetics. The expected research results correspond to the Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, approved by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 642 dated 01.12.2016. The list of the FGBI ARRIAH research works for 2021 is very significant for the country due to the emergence of new risks of the introduction and spread of livestock infectious diseases.

For the first time effective veterinary drugs for prevention of infectious diseases in animals, reducing the spread of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms will be created on the basis of the FGBI ARRIAH.

The FGBI ARRIAH production of novel vaccines and diagnostic kits is a solution to the issue of import substitution and another stage in the development of its own diagnostic base for extensive monitoring studies and antiepidemic measures.

The high appraisal of the Russian Academy of Sciences in terms of the novelty of the FGBI ARRIAH research work reflects the potential for application of vaccines, test systems, methods of laboratory diagnostics and analytical information in domestic and world veterinary medicine and confirms the importance of the research team activities for ensuring food and biological security of the country.
