On the 18th of October, 2016 the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor held a seminar on “Topical issues of epizootology, preventions of lumpy skin disease, obligations of the local authorities and veterinary services in the RF subject raions”.
Experts from the FGBI ARRIAH gave lectures at the seminar opened by Deputy Head for Quality Sergey Starov and Deputy Head for Science and Monitoring Alexey Mischenko.
Researchers from the FGBI ARRIAH reported on epizootic situation on lumpy skin disease in Russia; reported on peculiarities of its clinical signs and anti-epidemic measures taken to control the disease outbreaks.
The FGBI ARRIAH focused on prevention of dangerous and highly dangerous bovine diseases and possible routes of their transmission, answered their colleagues’ questions.
Practical work was an important part of the seminar. The FGBI ARRIAH experts held a training class in “post-mortem lesions caused by lumpy skin disease and sampling for lab diagnosis” providing the audience with an opportunity to put what they have learned into practice.
At the end of the training all the seminar participants were awarded corresponding certificates.
