In March, 2016 the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor supplied the first consignment of the vaccine to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia. The supplied vaccine was as follows: sorbate mono- and polyvalent vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) based on the virus grown in BHK-21 cells and containing type A genetic line A GVII FMDV antigen.
The said vaccine was developed within the shortest possible period for prevention of type A GVII genetic line FMDV introduced from the Indian peninsula and responsible for FMD outbreaks in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran in 2015 and in the Republic of Armenia in 2016.
The FGBI “ARRIAH” experts examined the type A FMD virus for its immunobiological properties and determined the said virus isolate and type A FMDV production strain match. The test results showed that used vaccine FMDV antigens (A Iran 2005; A TUP 20/06; A22 IRQ64; A SEA-97) did not protect animals from the disease. The above-mentioned strain was recommended as a production strain.
The FGBI “ARRIAH” specialists developed the sorbate mono- and polyvalent vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) based on the virus grown in BHK-21 cells and containing type A genetic line A GVII FMDV antigen. The vaccine was developed in accordance with international good manufacturing practice (GMP EC) and pharmaceutical quality control standards. The vaccine is produced by the FGBI “ARRIAH” and is a high-quality veterinary biological.
