In March 2020, the staff members of the Laboratory for Microbiological Testing of the Testing Centre of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” participated in the interlaboratory comparisons (ILCs) for qualitative and quantitative determination of different GM maize and soya lines using PCR. The interlaboratory comparisons were organized by Fapas (the United Kingdom), the accredited ILC provider.
Forty-seven laboratories took part in the round. The participants of the interlaboratory comparisons were requested to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of a sample for the presence of two soya and ten maize lines.
The data presented in the report show that the Laboratory’s results were found to be satisfactory; the z-score used for assessing the acceptability of the qualitative test results was ≤ 2.
Once again, the staff members of the Laboratory for Microbiological Testing proved their competence and the reliability of the methods they use.
