On July 20, 2018, a delegation from Mongolia, represented by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Enkhbat Dazhin, and the General Director, Chief Veterinary Officer of the Veterinary Department Dorzhnyam Tumendemberel, visited the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Center for Animal Health”.
The parties discussed the cooperation in animal health and control of economically significant, highly dangerous diseases. During the dialogue, the parties discussed the development of antiepizootic measures aimed at control of infectious animal diseases in Mongolia.
The Mongolian side expressed interest in the supply of vaccines produced by the FGBI “ARRIAH” to Mongolia, to ensure disease prevention in the livestock population.
Representatives of Mongolia noted the high level of the scientific and technical capacity of the institution, and Dmitry Lozovoy, Director of the FGBI “ARRIAH”, expressed readiness to assist Mongolian colleagues in training veterinarians (including postgraduate training), and also in organizing monitoring studies.
Agreements on bilateral long-term cooperation were reached as a result of the visit. During the meeting, the representatives of the FGBI “ARRIAH” and Veterinary Department of Mongolia signed the contract for the supply of foot-and-mouth disease vaccines for livestock vaccination in order to prevent the disease spread with the subsequent obtaining of the status of “FMD free country with vaccination”.
